At the plan, Hai Phong Customs has presented many solutions to implement five activities: Information provision; business support; business and stakeholder consultation; law enforcement supervision, and Customs-Business cooperation.

In terms of business support, Hai Phong Customs Department promotes the contents as follows supporting businesses to fully and timely updated regulations, customs procedures, and newly issued import and export duty; answering questions and recommendations of businesses when carrying out customs procedures…

Notably, regarding the Customs-Business Cooperation, Hai Phong Customs Department determined to promote cooperation with enterprises and stakeholders to implement three key contents as follows:

Firstly, deploying the state management of customs towards modernization, meeting the requirement of digital transformation, and developing digital customs and smart customs.

Secondly, improving the capacity to identify some of goods.

Thirdly, regulating and processing customs procedures for goods exported on-spot; tax exemption and refund procedure for imports and exports…

Hai Phong Customs Department is one of the units with the largest import-export turnover in the whole industry, each year there are millions of import-export declarations from tens of thousands of businesses.

In January 2024, the entire Hai Phong Customs Department completed procedures for 14,159 businesses, with 214,914 declarations, and total import-export turnover reached US$10.4 billion. In particular, exports reached US$5.21 billion, imports reached US$5.19 billion.

In addition, the unit monitored 101 ships, including 46 ships on entry and 55 ships on exit; implemented immigration procedures for 10 aircraft with 1,031 passengers on entry and 5 aircraft with 785 passengers departing through Cat Bi International Airport.

Previously, in 2023, the whole Department carried out procedures for more than 2.2 million import and export goods declarations (an increase of 3.68% over the same period in 2022) of more than 29,000 businesses; supervising more than 9,000 vehicles and more than 180,000 crew members entering and exiting Hai Phong port; more than 700 aircraft entered and exited the country with over 120,000 passengers entering and exiting through Cat Bi international airport.
