VCN – The General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) has directed local customs departments to strengthen management and the fight against smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods in e-commerce.

Following the direction of Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi, Head of Steering Committee 389 of the Ministry of Finance, the GDVC has requested the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, the Post Clearance Audit Department, the Risk Management Department, the Inspectorate Department, the Customs Control and Supervision Department, the Personnel and Organization Department, General Department Office and local customs departments to implement key tasks.

Implement direction of the Deputy Prime Minister-Head of National Steering Committee 389 in Official Dispatch 3986/VPCP-V.1 dated June 28 of the Government Office, Official Dispatch 60/BTC-BCĐ389 dated August 29 of Steering Committee 389 of the Ministry of Finance on strengthening management and fight against smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods in e-commerce.

The country’s top customs regulator assigns the Post Clearance Audit Department, the Risk Management Department, the Inspectorate Department and local customs departments to collect information and inspect to promptly prevent and handle violations in cross-border e-commerce.

Focus on grasping the situation, taking operational measures, and inspecting and making plans to control and combat smuggling, trade fraud and fake goods in cross-border e-commerce.

Exchange and share information on smuggling, trade fraud and fake goods with anti-smuggling enforcement forces such as Border Guard, Police, Coast Guard, and Market Surveillance.

The GDVC assigns the Customs Control and Supervision Department to coordinate with relevant units to review and advise the leader of the GDVC to propose competent agencies to amend and supplement regulations, meeting customs requirements for imports and exports via e-commerce.

The Personnel and Organization Department must work with relevant units and the Standing Office of National Steering Committee 389 in rewarding units and officers that have great contributions in combating smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods in cross-border e-commerce.

The Inspectorate Department must coordinate with other units to determine the responsibilities of units and officers for smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods in cross-border e-commerce in the area; strictly handle those who support and protect smugglers and criminals.

The General Department Office must collaborate with relevant units in providing information to the press and media agencies to encourage residents not to participate in smuggling, commercial fraud and fake goods in cross-border e-commerce.Thái Bình
