On March 25, 2024, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc signed Decision No. 499/QD-BTC to appoint Mr. Dinh Ngoc Thang, Director of HCM City Customs Department to the position of Deputy Director General of Vietnam Customs from April 2, 2024.
At the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel Organization (Ministry of Finance) Pham Xuan Thuy announced Decision 499/QD-BTC dated March 25, 2024.
On behalf of the Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi presented the Decision and gave flowers to congratulate Deputy Director General Dinh Ngoc Thang.
Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Minister of Finance highly appreciated the General Department of Vietnam Customs, besides completing assigned political tasks, they also trained staff very well. The strengthening of senior staff and the appointment of Deputy Director General Dinh Ngoc Thang contribute to strengthening the capacity of the leadership team of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, on that basis to complete the tasks of 2024 and the following years.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi believes that with nearly 30 years of working in the Customs sector, through many positions, new Deputy Director General Dinh Ngoc Thang would successfully complete the assigned tasks, along with the collective leadership of the General Department of Vietnam Customs directed and successfully implemented many new goals of the industry.
To complete the tasks in his new position, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi requested Deputy Director General Dinh Ngoc Thang to pay attention to performing key tasks such as together with the leadership of General Department of Vietnam Customs to direct the entire sector to complete its tasks; always has a spirit of good cooperation with units inside and outside the sector in task performance; continuously study to improve qualifications and capacity to meet task requirements in new positions…
The Deputy Minister requested the General Department’s leadership and civil servants, public employees, and workers throughout the sector to collaborate, support, and create conditions for new Deputy Director General Dinh Ngoc Thang to complete his tasks well.

Speaking at the Conference, Director General of Vietnam Customs Nguyen Van Can thanked the Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Finance for their concerns and appointment of Deputy Director General of Vietnam Customs to meet the leadership requirements of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Regarding Deputy Director General Dinh Ngoc Thang, Director General Nguyen Van Can proposed to accept the instructions of Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi, promote capacity and qualifications, constantly learn and continue working with the leaders of the General Department of Vietnam Customs to promote the spirit of solidarity and lead the entire industry to successfully carry out tasks.
