VCN – Southern Customs Marine Enforcement Fleet (Fleet No.3) under the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department under the General Department of Vietnam Customs seized a fishing logistics service ship transporting 270 tons of fuel oil (FO) without a legal invoice.

According to Fleet No.3, implementing the plan for regular patrolling and control in 2023 and performing periodic area patrols in April, the working team of the Fleet No.3 detected a fishing logistics service ship with suspicious signs, so the team inspected the ship.

The ship is named Thuan Hue 68 with license plate BV-97979-TS and is operated by Mr. Pham Sy Liem. The working team detected a total of 270 tons of FO in the three tunnels of the ship without a legal invoice.

The FO was pumped from an iron ship without a name and number on the coast of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

Deputy Head of the Fleet No.3 Hoang Van Thao said that the transportation and transshipment of vessels and illegal transportation of petroleum products have taken place complicatedly. Fleet No.3 has made plans for regular control in the area to prevent violations. For Thuan Hue 68 ship, the smugglers also hid infringing goods in the fishing logistics service ship to outsmart the detection by the law enforcement force.

Currently, all the FO has been seized by Fleet No.3 for investigation.
