Strengthens customs cooperation between Quang Tri and Salavan Customs administrations

VCN – On the occasion of 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation, Salavan Customs Department (Laos) visited and worked with the Quang Tri Customs Department.

Within the working session, the two customs authorities discussed creating favorable conditions for trade and strengthening cooperation and supporting anti-smuggling investigations.

At the working session, Director of Quang Tri Customs Department Tran Manh Cuong warmly welcomed Director of Salavan Customs Department Sengphet Sisulat and the delegation in Quang Tri province.

Director Tran Manh Cuong said Quang Tri province and Salavan province strengthened cooperation and supported each other in all aspects; coordinated with ministries and sectors of the two countries to develop La Lay International Border Gate.

The two customs administrations regularly collaborated to improve the efficiency of customs management and meet international commitments signed by the two sides.

Director Sengphet Sisulat thanked Quang Tri Customs Department for the warm welcome.

He expressed his expectation of high growth of trade across La Lay International Border Gate pair for the development of the two provinces by implementing trade facilitation measures.

In order for further effective customs cooperation, the two sides agreed to facilitate trade and strengthen collaboration in anti-smuggling, trade fraud and illegal transportation of goods and drugs across the border gate, contributing to ensuring safety and security Vietnam – Laos border areas.

The two sides also agreed to alternately hold annual talks at the customs department level, quarterly organize custom branch-level meetings to promptly inform each other of new policies and regulations, and share experiences.
