Prices of imported gasoline decrease by more than VND4 million ton

VCN – Compared to the second half of June 2022, the average price (excluding tax) of imported gasoline decreased by about US$185/ton (equivalent to over VND 4 million/ton).

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 15 days of July, the whole country imported 380,902 tons of petroleum of all kinds (including petrol, diesel oil, mazut, and aviation fuel) with a total turnover of US$461.44 million.

Compared to the second half of June 2022, the import volume was quite balanced (declining by 202 tons) but the turnover decreased sharply by nearly US$54 million.

Thus, the average value of this commodity group decreased from US$1,346/ton in the second half of June to US$1,211.4/ton in the first half of July.

Notably, gasoline products fell sharply, from an average of US$1,359.5/ton to US$1,174.7/ton, decreasing by about US$185/ton (equivalent to more than VND4 million/ton).

Diesel oil decreased by nearly US$92/ton (from US$1,335.6/ton to US$1,244/ton); aviation fuel decreased by about US$135/ton (from US$1,387.85/ton to US$1,252.8/ton); fuel oil decreased by US$24.3/ton (from US$1,016.3/ton to US$922/ton).

In general, from the beginning of the year to July 15, the whole country imported 4,805,713 tons of petroleum of all kinds, with a turnover of more than US$5 billion.

In terms of the market (updated by the end of June), the volume of petroleum imports into Vietnam increased sharply in the Korean and Chinese markets but decreased in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

Specifically, petroleum imported from Korea was 1.95 million tons, increasing by 104.5%; China was 391,000 tons, rising by 92.3%.

Meanwhile, imported from Malaysia were 781,000 tons, declining by 45.8%; Singapore was 636,000 tons, dropping by 15.8%; Thailand was 580,000 tons, reduced by 1.7% over the same period last year.
