VCN – The quantity of exported medical masks in July plunged and reached the lowest number in the first seven months of the year.

According to preliminary statistics released by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, six enterprises across the country exported VND5.6 million in July 2022, down 18.8% compared with June.
This was the two consecutive months since the beginning of the year when less than 10 million were exported.
In the first seven months of the year, the country shipped 88.9 million medical masks. Of which, 22.2 million masks were exported in January.
In 2021, Vietnam exported over 453 million medical masks. There was no month in the whole of last year that the export of medical masks reached 65 million masks or more, much lower than the average of 2020.
After the application period for the issuance of the export permit for medical masks for Covid-19 prevention and control under the Government’s Resolution 20/NQ-CP dated February 28, 2020, the export of this item has resumed from May 2020 under the Government’s Resolution 60/NQ-CP dated April 29, 2020.
