Hanoi Customs discovers 1 370 grams of suspected meth in express package to Japan

VCN- Hanoi Customs Department has worked with other State authorities to inspect and detect a large amount of suspected methamphetamine in four express packages exported to Japan.

Previously, during the process of customs clearance, inspection, supervision and control of goods transported via express delivery, the Express Delivery Customs Branch discovered four shipments exported to Japan suspected of containing drugs.

On May 10, the Drug Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department) coordinated with the Express Delivery Customs Branch and a specialized unit under the Hanoi City Police to inspect four shipments, weighing about 50 kg.

As a result, the State agencies discovered a large amount of white crystals suspected of being methamphetamine hidden in cosmetic boxes, weighing 1,370 grams.

The suspects had disguised the packages of evidence at the bottom of the cosmetic boxes, mixed with confectionery and other consumer goods to bypass the authorities.

The case is being handled.

Previously, on May 8, the Drug Enforcement Team coordinated with the Northern Hanoi Customs Branch and a specialized unit under the Hanoi Police to inspect a shipment weighing 18.5kg. As a result, a large amount of suspected synthetic drug pills were found in two coffee packages, with a total weight of about 4kg.
