Handling nearly 14 000 cases of violations in the field of customs

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in October, the situation of illegal trade and transport of goods across the border, trade fraud, illegal trafficking and transportation of narcotics took place on air routes, express delivery and land with many sophisticated methods and tricks to avoid the control of the authorities.

In order to actively collect information, grasp the actual situation in the area, and promptly direct the administration and state management of customs, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has strengthened direction, warnings and inspections of instructions on professional operation for anti-smuggling forces in the whole sector.

Furthermore, strengthening the fight against drugs; coordinate in formulating regulations on coordination between police and customs forces in the fight against drug-related crimes.

Implement the direction of the leadership of the Ministry of Finance and promptly implement Plan No. 92/KH-BCD dated September 13, 2022 on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods on the border lines, sea areas and inland areas.

As a result, in October (from September 16, 2022 to October 15, 2022), the whole Customs sector chaired, coordinated, and handled a total of 1,324 cases of violations, valued at VND350,295 billion; revenue collection reached VND11,156 billion, 13 cases were transferred to other agencies for prosecution.

To October 15, 2022, the whole sector has chaired, coordinated and handled a total of 13,720 cases of violation, the value of infringing goods was estimated at VND4,790 billion; revenue and payment to the state budget reached VND265,841 billion, the customs office has prosecuted 35 cases, transferred to other agencies to prosecute 113 cases.
