VCN – The revenue in the first quarter of 2023 of Hai Phong Customs Department sees a year-on-year decrease of 8%.

In the first quarter of the year, Hai Phong Customs Department fell 7.95% or VND 1,464 billion to VND16,962 billion compared with the previous year, reaching 21.23% of target.

The revenue of Hai Phong area decreased by 7.7% or VND1,218 billion to VND14,607 billion, meeting 20.9% of the target.

The revenue of the three areas outside Hai Phong city dropped 9.4% year-on-year to VND 2,355 billion, meeting 23.5% of the target.

Motivated by the results, Hai Phong Customs Department’s revenue accounted for 18.58% of the total revenue of the Customs revenue in the first quarter.

The decrease in the revenue resulted from the decline in import and export turnover.

As of March 15, the trade in goods at Hai Phong Customs Department reached US$ 20.3 billion.

Notably, the taxable import and export turnover dropped 10% to over US$ 4 billion compared with the same period in 2022.

The export turnover went down 3.5% to US$ 10 billion year-on-year. The taxable export turnover increased by 8.8% to US$ 94.7 million year-on-year. The taxable import turnover and taxable import turnover decreased by 9.4% and 11.1% to US$ 10.3 billion and US$3.937 billion year-on-year, respectively.
