VCN – Ha Tinh Customs Department has used the handheld narcotics analyzer to discover and handle two drug trafficking cases across the border.

On November, the Customs and Border Guard and Police forces at Cau Treo International Border Gate Border detected a Mitsubishi car and a Toyota Vigo car with suspicious signs.

After monitoring, the working team detected suspicious signs of a man and searched him. Through the inspection, the team discovered five cartons including seven plastic bags containing white solid crystals with a total weight of over 1.9kg.

The customs used handheld narcotics analyzer to identify the white solid crystals that showed a positive result for methamphetamine.

The working team arrested Tu Dang Liem, 52, residing in Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province, and Le Hu Nam 44, in Huong Son District for drugs trafficking.

Earlier, on November 5, the Customs and Police of Huong Son District discovered Nguyen Hung Manh, 36, who was illegally hiding drugs.

The customs detected 1.38 grams of heroin and 0.31 grams of methamphetamine at the scene.

Nguyen Hung Manh said that he was a drug addict. He bought the drugs in Duc Tho town.

Currently, these two cases are being investigated and handled by the competent forces.
