VCN – The General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) has directed municipal and provincial customs departments to collect feedback from enterprises on free software for customs declarations.

On February 22, the GDVC’s leader issued a dispatch requesting local customs departments to notify importers and exporters in the area about the free software for customs declaration.
The GDVC requested departments to collect feedback from enterprises about additional utilities of the free customs declaration software and obstacles during use of the software as a basis for the country’s top customs regulator to supplement and amend, aiming to facilitate businesses.
Customs has also noted the reason why businesses have not used the software to make customs declarations.
The GDVC has launched free customs declaration software at https://e-Declaration.customs.gov.vn:8443 from January 1, 2022.
The user manual has been posted by the GDVC at https://www.customs.gov.vn and attached to the Notice dated December 10.

The new customs declaration software is executed on the web-based platform and centrally installed at the GDVC’s headquarters, so businesses access the software via an internet-connected device. The software is also updated to meet the new requirements of Digital Customs and Smart Customs.
The free software for customs declarations will bring many benefits to the business community, helping businesses save investment costs in machinery, equipment, software copyright, and soon approach and take the initiative in meeting requirements of the Customs sector when implementing the Digital Customs System and Smart Customs model.
