Da Nang Customs strives to achieve revenue target of VND4 350 billion

In 2021, Da Nang Customs Department is assigned the revenue target of VND3,550 billion and the desired target of VND4,200 billion. Recently, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has revised up the department’s desired target to VND4,350 billion.

As of end-September, the department’s revenue saw a year-on-year increase of 44.6% to VND3,718.35 billion.

According to Da Nang Customs Department, the increase in the department’s revenue results from the growth in trade and tax revenue of some items.

Notably, the taxable export turnover of wood and wooden products rose 9.5%, tax payable increased 16.4%. The taxable export turnover of scrap aluminum products went up 3.7% and tax payable increased 1.5%.

The taxable export turnover and tax payable of auto components, spare parts and accessories surged 265.5% and 245.4%. The taxable import turnover and tax payable of auto components, spare parts and accessories, paper products, and wine and beer increased 151.8%, 69.9% and 33.6%, respectively.

To achieve the revenue target, the department has effectively implemented the Government’s socio-economic development plan and the State budget estimate for 2021, and Directive 215 dated January 15 of the Director General of Vietnam Customs.

The local department has strengthened the anti-revenue loss work through the implementation of customs procedures, post-clearance audit, specialized inspection, prevention of smuggling, trade fraud, enhancement of customs inspection and supervision.

The department has also expedited the inspection and customs valuation, price rulings for suspected cases undervalue declaration, prevented missing suspected cases of price without price rulings. It has checked customs value for items with high tax rate and turnover, especially for auto imports.

The department has strengthened name, HS code and tax rate of goods in customs clearance and post clearance audit to handle cases of false declaration of HS code and name of goods to enjoy low tax rates.

The local Customs authority has also reviewed and monitored tax debts; classified debt groups and tax debt status of enterprises; drastically handled and collected tax debt, reduced outstanding tax debt, prevented new debts and strived to prevent the debt as of December 31, 2021 being higher than December 31, 2020.
