Regarding the seizure of nearly 164,000 e-cigarette products (Customs Magazine published previously) in Hung Yen by the Customs Enforcement Team (Hai Phong Customs Department), the Market Surveillance Team No. 5 (Hung Yen Provincial Market Surveillance Department) coordinated with Market Surveillance Team No.3 and Economic Police Department (Hung Yen Provincial Police), Tien Lu District Police, on June 12, representative Hai Phong Customs Department provided more information on this issue.
Accordingly, implementing the instructions of leaders at all levels, leaders of Hai Phong Customs Department have directed the Customs Enforcement Team and functional units to strengthen the fight against smuggling of electronic cigarettes and heated cigarettes.
On that basis, the Customs Enforcement Team has implemented professional measures and collected information to detect cases related to the trading of e-cigarettes and heated cigarettes.
Through information collection, the Customs Enforcement Team discovered that Mr. Tran Xuan Ha’s store located in La Son village, Thien Phien commune, Tien Lu district, Hung Yen province, was trading e-cigarettes with signs of violating customs law.
On June 6, 2024, the Customs Enforcement Team (Hai Phong Customs Department) coordinated with competent units of the Hung Yen Market Surveillance Department and Hung Yen Police to search a warehouse in Thien Phien commune, Tien Lu district, Hung Yen province owned by Mr. Tran Xuan Ha (was born in 1980) in Bac Ninh.
At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered a total of 163,410 electronic cigarette equipment products of all types and 9,913 kg of electronic cigarette accessories of various brands, such as FLUM PEBBLE 6000, MIOU 18,000, BAR9K, LOST MARY, GEEK BAR, LOST VAPE 7500, VAPOR STORM and e-liquid using for e-cigarettes and e-cigarette accessories.
The inspection team made a record of temporary seizure and sealed all goods to continue verifying and clarifying violations.
