VCN – Taking advantage of the night, the driver of a truck transporting tens of thousands of products and goods without invoices and vouchers into the country was arrested by An Giang anti-smuggling forces.

The Customs Enforcement Team – An Giang Customs Department said that, at 3am on November 18, 2021, the unit worked with An Giang Inter-sectoral Anti-Smuggling Working Group in coordination with the Phu Huu Border Guard Station to control in An Phu district area.
When arriving at Ha Bao hamlet, Da Phuoc commune, An Phu district, An Giang, the working group discovered that the truck showed many suspicious signs, so competent force stopped the vehicle to inspect it.
Through inspection, the force discovered many packages, sacks, and cartons containing a total of 28,554 products in the trunk, including: tapes, machine parts, led lights, compressors, rollers, slippers. Besides that, there were tons of fabric on the car; 1,800 liters of oil, 42,000m of power cable. The value of infringing goods is about VND1.5 billion.
Through conducting a physical inspection, the above goods are of unknown origin and foreign origin. At the time of inspection, driver Huynh Danh Cuong (born in 1974, living in My Phu hamlet, My Phu commune, Chau Phu district, An Giang province) could not present a legal invoice to prove the origin.
The case was handed over to the An Phu District Police to make a record of administrative violations and issue a decision to temporarily seize exhibits and relevant papers for verification, clarification, and handling in accordance with law.
