According to Lao Cai Customs Department, from 16 September to 15 October, there were 240 enterprises carrying out import – export procedures at the whole department, decreasing by eight compared to the previous period.

However, the number of declarations reached 4,795, an increase of 431 over the same period last month; total import and export turnover reached $108.9 million, up 7.9%. In particular, exports reached $37.1 million, down 14%; and imports reached $71.8 million, up 23.7%.

According to the Lao Cai Customs Department, export turnover decreased compared to the same period last month due to a decrease in exported agricultural products such as dragon fruit, watermelon, wood of all kinds, shoes, and yellow phosphorus.

While import turnover increased due to the main impoted products related to fertilizers, iron and steel and products from iron and steel, plastic and plastic products.

From the beginning of the year to October 15, at Lao Cai Customs Department, there were 576 enterprises engaged in import and export activities, an increase of 74 enterprises compared to the same period last year.

The total number of declarations was 47,987, an increase of 21,215; total turnover reached $1.35 billion, up 10.6% over the same period in 2020. In particular, exports reached $793 million, up 11.7%; and imports reached $557 million, up 9%.

Regarding state revenue accumulated to October 15, Lao Cai Customs Department collected VND1,207.6 billion, equaling 69.6% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance (VND1,735 billion); equal to 63.5% of the target assigned by People’s Committee of Lao Cai province (VND1,900 billion), an increase of 3.8% over the same period in 2020.
